Áróra's inspiration is partly drawn from the Victorian collarette and various types of removable collars that women have used through the centuries to alter the appearance of a simple shirt or dress. This little accessory was an integral part to every woman's wardrobe, as an inexpensive way to give a simple gown flair.

Áróra's accessories is a modern take on the collarette. As women like to decorate with accessories, the collarette adds an elegant twist to a simple outfit. The collettes are romantic, yet modern, and can transform any outfit from plain to dramatic or if one chooses it can blend unobtrusively with any dress.

Every collarette is handmade with care. The collarette is made from a cotton base and then decorated with lace, ruffles or satin ribbons and occasionally sequins and buttons. The form is simple but flattering. Áróra has built her reputation not only on fabulous designs but also on excellent craftsmanship, an attentive eye to details and care for the finished product.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1978. Áróra studied fashion design at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, graduating in 2005. Áróra launched her line in 2007. She lives and works in Reykjavik.
